EQAs types:
UK NEQAS offers a number of different EQA types. To view the different EQA types and related charges for the current year, please download the document below. More information can also be found in the participants' manual.
Retrospective reports (R) involve the submission of at least two cytogenetic reports for assessment by assessors. Analytical and interpretive proficiency is assessed. (N.B. No slides). If the interpretation is done separately by the clinician then a copy of their report needs to be submitted.
Case scenarios (CS) involve the interpretation and reporting of two case scenarios. The case scenarios give the referral details and the results of the analysis. Analytical and interpretive proficiency is assessed.
Online EQA (OL) involves the online analysis and interpretation of images and data from two or more cases. The online EQA enables you to select appropriate additional tests (e.g. FISH) if required for the reporting of the case. Analytical and interpretive proficiency is assessed.
Validated samples involves the distribution of DNA or cell suspension samples of two or more cases for analysis and interpretation. Analytical and interpretive proficiency is assessed.
